The Case for Hydropower
|
Electricity powers today’s modern world, and we’ve built our lives around its constant availability, hoping all the while that solutions are sustainable. Often, the most viable solutions are overlooked:
> Hydropower is a cost-effective, reliable, and renewable non-carbon source of energy.
> Hydropower is a viable alternative to natural gas and nuclear, and can mitigate the variability of intermittent renewables on existing power grids. > Hydropower has a long and proven history, and offers an abundant, sustainable, hopeful energy future. |
In 2019, hydropower generated 4,306 terawatt hours of clean electricity, the greatest contribution from a renewable energy source ever.
