A Past... With a Future
Legend has it that the American Energy Society was originally founded in the 1950s but lacking focus went dormant in the 1970s. In August 2011, the Society was reborn with new leadership and a mission to provide superior professional support responsive to sector conditions.
The Society now has more than 135,000 Friends, a "Moore's Law" growth rate of scope and scale surpassing any other comparable professional association. Members come from every conceivable energy sector: academics and researchers in the national laboratories, policy-makers, investors, industrial affiliates, sponsors, patent and license services… The American Energy Society serves them all by providing an extraordinary breadth of curated content, insightful publications, and community-building events and services.

Testimonials
“My colleagues and I very much appreciate the American Energy Society; it addresses an unmet need to bring energy professionals together to increase communication and effectiveness. [For instance,] Energy Matters is a very useful update that keeps us in the loop about what is going on – the field is so extensive that it is easy to miss important news and events. Thanks for filling this gap.”
- George C — research "The American Energy Society - what remarkable resources…! Keep up the great work.” - Anna B — energy finance “There are more than enough organizations that provide access to (expensive) specialized information, but the American Energy Society is the only organization that I know of that provides excellent breadth of coverage.” - Michael B — professional development "I get so much information from the Society that I can't imagine working without it." - Erika-Louise — consultant/analyst “I get way too much information about energy every day. It’s overwhelming - it’s impossible to keep up. But, better than any other resource, the American Energy Society helps me keep up with the field … especially developments that are outside my comfort zone.” - Bob O — professional services "Energy Matters and Energy Today are required reading in my courses." - Jane W — professor “When the energy landscape shifts – and it’s always changing – I turn to the American Energy Society as my go-to-resource. I trust the American Energy Society.” - Don G — industry |
